About The Books
I find I've reached the point in life where, having learned a lot, I feel the need to somehow pass things on. One avenue is putting things in print where others can find them. My first foray into this is simple self-publication on Amazon (print and Kindle). If I do later editions, and there is interest, I'll see about acquiring ISBN's and self-publishing in Ingram Spark too, or perhaps even seeking an actual publisher. Such things were too much for my first attempt: if I'd insisnted on them, these books might never have reached any sort of publication.
The books cover things such as:
- Tai Chi (which I have practised since the start of 2004), Mindfulness, and Meditation, which I picked up along the way in various forms. The first of these is Of Mind and Movement.
- Music production, which has been an aspiring hobby from the days I discovered Garageband on my venerable G4 mac mini back in 2005. I loved the music of Jarre from childhood, and acquired an interest in various electronic genres in more recent years. The first of these is Meta-Production.
- Mental Health. I have diagnoses of Autism and Bipolar Disorder (type I with psychosis). I find my view 'from the inside' is vastly different to what clinicians and others 'on the outside' seem to think and say. So I have an earnest desire to put into print an account of how I see things, so that others can get a little closer to seeing my particular Autism, Bipolar, Mania, and Psychosis, as viewed from within. (work in progress)
- Faith and Spirituality. I'll touch also on religion, though for me it is the Spirit, whatever it is, that lies at the heart of my Spiritual Journey. That Journey has led me all these years, random events and strokes of luck inspiring me, guiding me, constraining me, and assisting me along the way. Having a background in pure mathematics and a natural instinct for abstraction and logic, I long to explain how I make sense of these things and my experiences to the satisfaction of my own reasoning faculties. (work in progress)
The first editions are Kindle Direct self-publications. The first two paperbacks, Of Mind and Movement and Meta-Production were released on the 10th February, 2026, as were the Kindle e-book versions.
The pages for these books, as I write this (Feb 2026), are skeletons for content related to the books. There is a Facebook page for feedback (see below).

I don't want to go the hassle of setting up my own discussion server, so these should suffice for now.
There is also a YouTube channel (currently empty).
Of Mind & Movement
Thoughts on the Practice of Tai Chi, Mindfulness, and Meditation
If you watch someone practising Tai Chi, all you see is someone slowly moving and waving their arms. What are they trying to do? What is the point of the practice?
Likewise, if you watch someone meditating, all you most likely see is someone sitting still, possibly on a cushion in a quiet room with a candle and a stick of incense burning, possibly moving small beads with their fingers for some reason. What are they doing? What are they trying to do? And what are Tai Chi, Mindfulness and Meditation really all about?
The purpose of this book is to summarise my insights and learning from the last 20 years of practising Tai Chi, Mindfulness and Meditation; how I see things from the perspective of someone doing these; and especially the things that a casual observer will not see.
Meta-Production
Thoughts on the Process of Producing Electronic Music
There are many tutorials, and many books, on the production of electronic music. Most of the time these tell you how to program a synth patch, or how to arrange a track, or how to EQ a kick drum. But few of these do what is here termed meta-production: the thinking about your overall strategy for approaching learning music production, about the attitudes to take, and about optimising your workflow.
What is meant by meta-production? The difference in attitude between production and meta-production is the primary focus. When producing, the recording you get at the end is the product, and the production process is a means to achieving that end. With meta-production, the process and workflow are the product, and the recordings produced are side-effects of the process of analysing, refining, and training your workflow and production processes. The hope is that, by optimising how you produce, when you then get back to producing proper, with the end products being the primary aim, you'll produce that bit more efficiently and effectively.
